Maria Palato is a unique space that combines the best that our country has with the best that we find in the world. From cheese to wine, from sausages to preserves, from chocolates to jams, from small to large producers, Maria Palato arrived in Lisbon with the aim of providing you with true moments of gastronomic and wine pleasure. Dreamed of for a long time, Maria Palato was created so that you can be, talk, get to know and taste different flavors, many of which are practically unknown. More than a grocery store, Maria Palato is your home!

Maria Palato is a meeting point for those who love wine. Lisbon locals and international tour groups mingle and enjoy our friendly and casual space. Maria Palato has evolved into a meeting point for international visitors and also a daily stop for its neighbors in Baixa, Chiado and Alfama. Various languages ​​can be heard here. They get to know each other, have debates and form many, many friendships. We pride ourselves on welcoming everyone and making visitors and expats feel as welcome as our neighbors. Our philosophy is to welcome everyone and treat customers as guests in our home.

We encourage visitors to bring their well-behaved pets, and you'll often see Poncha, our star, walking around!

The wonderful staff member even offered us a tasting of the wine from Madeira before we went there which was amazing. Don't let the cute restaurant opening fool you - this place has a great kitchen, huge selection of wine and is amazing! Definitely recommend.

  • We highly recommended this place if you are wine lovers! The amazing staff and owner were super knowledgeable, they knew a lot about the wines and offered us to try a port wine which was so good! We end up bought home 4 bottles! Their cute dog called Poncha, welcomes every single customers at the entrance and the owner use her as a logo of their house wine.
